A message from Lady Captain
Samantha McFadzean
Please put the following on the site.
My husband, Clive has been a member of Halifax Bradley Hall Golf Club since 1980 and we've always socialised at the club. However in 2009 I finally got the golf bug and joined as a full member in 2010, where the bug became an addiction. I started with a handicap of 36 but it is currently 18 and I hope it will continue to improve. This year our course has been re-measured and now has non gender tees, a red and yellow course. So I'm hoping the members will embrace the non gender competitions we are putting in place, as clearly the future of golf lies here.
Regards Sam
Halifax Bradley Hall Ladies’ Section enjoys the distinctive reputation of being one of the warmest and friendliest sections in the county, both for members and visitors alike.
I am very honoured to be Lady Captain and I am eager to uphold the clubs standing and ensure that it remains one we are proud of and strive to uphold. We currently have over 50 lady members with a wide range of golfing abilities and ages.
Ladies' competitions are mainly held on Thursdays, with a roll up every Tuesday at 9 and 12 o’clock, weather dependent, but there is usually someone keen to play.
Being an equality club, we also play on Saturdays alongside the men and have some Sunday competitions, so we have competitive golf for all our ladies working or not.
During the year, we run a full programme of competitions, including;
Qualifying medals
Major trophy competitions
Qualifiers for national competitions
Mixed competitions
Fun games
Social and mixed golf
Along with all the above we also have A and B teams in the YLCGA interclub championships and a team in the Halifax and Huddersfield Evening League, should you wish to join us in any of these, they are always thoroughly enjoyed and a great opportunity to play courses around the county.
We have an extremely active ladies’ committee, who look after the general running of the ladies' section including; organising competitions, matches, handicaps, social and other needs. We also have representatives on various committees across the club, ensuring we are abreast of current matters and are actively involved in club issues.
We also have over 20 social members who meet regularly for lunch and a chat as well as an active Bridge section.
I am looking forward to working with the ladies this year as Lady Captain and wish to thank you all for your support.
We hope to increase our membership further. We can provide 'buddies' to help new ladies find their feet in the club and on the course.
I look forward to seeing you through the year, if you have any queries or even fancy a round of golf please don’t hesitate to get in touch, I’m always willing to help.
